Ramayan V 2.0

I love animated movies. India has a lot to offer the world but (I feel) it has done a bad job of selling/sharing its rich mythology with the rest of the world. When you think of China you think of dragons, Japan has anime, America has Superman, He-Man (by the way he is not gay; he is just comfortable with his sexuality :) ) (and loads of other superheroes). But India doesn’t form any image in my mind.

Hopefully, this would not be for long. Virgin Comics – Richard Branson, with Deepak Chopra, Shekhar Kapur are re-introducing Indian mythologies with a look which is rich, compelling & entertaining. I haven’t got my hands on one of their comics, but the web-site looks amazing, and I can’t really wait for own one of mine.

The irony is that Richard Branson is doing what an Indian should have done long back. Well in any case, I hope it catches on and adds to India's soft power.

Ohio State University

I got a transfer to Ohio State University!

Arch rivals of Michigan, currently the largest Univrsity in USA (according to Wikipedia) and ranked in the top 25 Universities in the world for my program.

So I am no longer a spartan but a Buckeye now (a type of seed, typcial of Ohio) and the mascot of the school is Brutus Buckeye.

So it's bigger and better. Go Buckeyes!

Farewell goodbye

2A Bailey planned a surprise Farewell for me just before we got into finals week. I was very surprised with the number of people who turned out. It was an absolutely fantastic night!

I will always cherish the memories that I made at Michgan State U. It was an excellent decision to stay on campus. I managed to get the best floor in the entire University. We had an excellent mix of people - ambitious, goofy, absolutely funny, intellegent, gamers, gangsters, geeks, so on and so forth. I didn't have a single dull moment. At times it was difficult to study because of the loud music, or because someone wanted to make a small bornfire of their books. Or when someone slammed the dorm room door open and announced that that toilet smelled like a 'polar bear's ass' (don't ask me how he knows the smell of that!).

It was a complete circus. I couldn't have asked for anything better. (If you are on facebook then you should check out the rest of the uploaded pictures) The exam week went off smooth and now I am enjoying my break in Orlando.

Thanksgiving

I spent my Thanksgiving in Columbus (Ohio), with Kavita and some of her friends. A American-German couple who love traveling! Patrick cooked for us - a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner - Turkey with cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, wine & of course delicious pumpkin pie (yes kaddu pie! I loved it!). An American cooking for the Indians, just like it was on the original Thanksgiving :)

The food was delicious & right after the meal, all of us fell asleep on the carpet. Does it get any better? I didn't know that Thanksgiving could be so much fun. So America does have a culture! :)

The How and Why of Returning to the Moon

"NASA has unveiled the initial elements of the Global Exploration Strategy and a proposed U.S. lunar architecture, two critical tools for achieving the nation's vision of returning humans to the moon.
The Global Exploration Strategy focuses on two overarching issues: Why we are returning to the moon and what we plan to do when we get there. The strategy includes a comprehensive set of the reasons for embarking upon human and robotic exploration of the moon. NASA's proposed lunar architecture focuses on a third issue: How humans might accomplish the mission of exploring the moon."
