Karma

I read a very interesting article in Sunday Times (TOI, 7th Jan 2006) and I thought I should share it.

Have you ever wondered what your subconscious mind looks like? … Simply look at your life and you are seeing an exact physical reflection of your subconscious Self. But how can this be? It is, I believe, based on a form of magnetism. This process allows us to determine our destiny and experience, even though our lives may appear to be controlled by events over which we have little or no influence. We all control our lives minute by minute. We don’t realize it.

The writer then goes on to talk about the aura, and how our sub-conscious mind affects the magnetic energy which reflects in every second of our lives, and how these magnetic patterns attracts others with similar magnetic thought fields. He explains his theory further with the help of an example – his visit to a “battered wives” hostel. He finds that the women there lacked self worth and self love, an attitude that clearly went back a long time. They attracted violent men, with deep subconscious hatred of Self, and this resulted in violent behavior. When the woman escaped such a person, she merely attracted someone else equally violent and discontent person. The sequence was only broken when the person developed a loving and respecting themselves.

This magnetic attraction of thought fields is how we draw to us what we fear, it explains love or dislike at first sight. … What we call ‘karma’ is, for me, just another word to describe this process of magnetic attraction. If we act negatively towards someone, it means there is an imbalance in our inner Self. This imbalance/thought pattern will eventually attract to us an experience that reflect that imbalance – our karma. This not a form of punishment, it is an aid to our evolution because it means we are constantly facing our inner Self. What can be seen, can be dealt with.

So this also explains:

  • victim mentality creates the victim reality, and
  • if you believe it, you will achieve it

EXCELLENT end to Year 2005

A family photo in Dec 2005. Year 2005 ended on a very good note. Mahima spent 2 weeks with us in the end of Decemeber.

I don't know when/where the entire family will meet up again. Amita is going to Australia in early Feb, and then I would leave for future studies by August. But I am glad we had a great time and experienced all emotions possible in the 2 weeks. Only wish, Harman Virji could have joined us, but nonetheless I would meet up with Mahima-Harman Virji in Delhi before I go abroad.

Thank God for these 2 weeks! They are gonna supply a lot of happy memories in times of need, for a long time to come!

Elections 2006

When I finished my LCP term in March 2004 I never thought a 6 month rookie would ever become LCP of AIESEC Baroda. Yet in the recent elections Krishnadas did become LCP, a deserving victory. There were 4 candidates contesting for the position and I witnessed some of the most impressive speeches and presentations in recent times! As an alumnus I was happy to see the fire burning bright and hot, people talking openly about issues and people not shying from dreaming big!

An important victory, an important year. Make the most of it!
