Ramayan V 2.0
I love animated movies. India has a lot to offer the world but (I feel) it has done a bad job of selling/sharing its rich mythology with the rest of the world. When you think of China you think of dragons, Japan has anime, America has Superman, He-Man (by the way he is not gay; he is just comfortable with his sexuality :) ) (and loads of other superheroes). But India doesn’t form any image in my mind.
Hopefully, this would not be for long. Virgin Comics – Richard Branson, with Deepak Chopra, Shekhar Kapur are re-introducing Indian mythologies with a look which is rich, compelling & entertaining. I haven’t got my hands on one of their comics, but the web-site looks amazing, and I can’t really wait for own one of mine.
The irony is that Richard Branson is doing what an Indian should have done long back. Well in any case, I hope it catches on and adds to India's soft power.
