Football - Live at the Stadium

I had my first experience of American Football today - Michigan State University vs Minnesota.
A crowd of 64,807 showed up at the last game of the season at home. We were in the stadium at 10.30 am (for a noon game) to get front row seats. The weather was freezing; with some rain & flurry. We were one of the most enthusiastic fans in the stadium today (okay, no one can beat the guy walking around with only body paint, in the cold!).
Justin (top right) with the green wig, won the “craziest fan” of the game. Go Justin!
My other buddies, in the picture, are: Robert Gaul III (was it “Sir?”) – the blonde with shades, under overcast conditions :D, and my room-mate Nick, under the green Spartan hat.
If it wasn’t for Nick pushing me to go for the game, I doubt I would have the chance to:
- see cheerleaders being flipped to like 100 m in the air (it was really high!),
- see the EXtremely low F-16s that took everybody’s breath away (part of the Veterans Day celebration. I especially loved the timing; the fighter planes flew right past the stadium the very second the American National Anthem ended)
- experience the energy and atmosphere of a Big Ten Football game, that I had heard so much about.
So thanks buddy!
And yes, our team lost :(
