BCCI makes over $1billion!!

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been making a lot of money in the recent times. The latest, Zee Telefilms Ltd. acquired the media rights for at least 25 games to be played in neutral venues (like United States, Hong Kong, Canada, Holland) for a total of $219.15 million. So now BCCI has made a total of $1.052 billion!

BCCI has promised to give about 26% to players as salary, which could translate into roughly Rs 50-60 crore per year. (You add in another Rs 5-25 crores that players make by giving their endorsments to products and you have VERY rich cricketers!!)

For sake of comparison the highest salary offered to 1 person from ISB is just over Rs 1 crore a year. So out of 100 students that apply for these schools, 1 gets in. And out of the (lets say) 1000 students that graduate every-year 1 gets an offer of Rs 1 crore. So it would be easier for someone to get into the Indian cricket team and make 50 times more money then graduating from the best B-School of India. And you just need to work for 1 year, and then chill for the rest of your life and if you manage to make a few decent investments, your future generations will never have to work! OMG!!!
